The Fighting

Why can I hear yelling?
As I sit here in my room?
How come mummy shouts so much?
Their voices crash and boom.

Sarah's parents weren't doing this,
When I went round last week,
Is it because we're special?
Maybe we're unique.

I can hear a door slam,
And a tear escapes my eye,
Daddy wont be back 'til morn,
It always makes me cry.

Mummy's crying too y'know,
Although she does it downstairs,
While I'll hug my teddy bear,
And have my dreams replaced with nightmares.

Things will go back to normal tomorrow,
When daddy comes back home,
Any then we'll be happy again,
Until next time we're alone.

People think we're happy,
And as normal as can be,
But they don't know what it's like,
To live in this family as me.
