Song of the stars
The bushman looked upon him
And puzzled he would say
Can't you hear the stars singing?
Every night come what may
They rise above these open plains
And sing about the day gone by
The happenings of the dawn before
As musical notes fill the sky
The stars keep watch over their friends below
Protecting as the bushmen sleep
A marvelous gaze the stars look down
Until the hour the birds shall cheep
And fill the air with their happy song
To replace the melody of the stars long gone
